Our Story

The Ladder Family

Owner Jimmie Brandell started in the restaurant business at age 16, under his mentor, Upper Krust Restaurant founder Jack Rouda. Jimmie worked his way up to Manager of the Upper Krust,  well-known for their overstuffed deli sandwiches. Jimmie remained in the restaurant & bar business in various capacities over next 25 years.
 
In 2004, Jimmie opened Jimmie’s Cornerstone Bar & Grille at 1001 Brown Street in Dayton. The building traced its colorful history back to the 1860’s. It was a spot known for great bar food and late night entertainment.

On 11/11/11, Jimmie’s Ladder 11 opened across the street from the former Cornerstone in a remodeled historic 1892 firehouse. JImmie's Ladder 11 is owned and operated by Jimmie and Sue, along with a dedicated team including their sons Nick, Jason, and Anthony.
